How the power of intention changed my life....
After a 10 month break, I am delighted to tell you that I am back and it feels so good!
Thanks to everybody who reached out to me to check that I was ok and apologies if I didn’t manage to get back to you all.
So what happened?
Tarot Avenue was going from strength to strength and I was building a strong community and thriving business. So, why the break?
As many of you know I was employed full time and running a recruitment agency as well as running Tarot Avenue on the side. I always managed to achieve the balance between the 2, even though it meant doing a lot of work in the evenings and weekends.
Everything changed this year.
Overwhelm
I was given extra responsibility in my corporate job which saw me open a new office in a different location. This meant I was travelling at least once a month to the second office.
It doesn’t sound like a lot however it was just enough to tip the scales and throw the balance. As I'm typing this I'm seeing 2 of pentacles, 10 of wands, 7 of wands....
With Tarot Avenue doing so well I was having to dedicate almost all of my spare time and to be honest it just became too much.

I absolutely could have ploughed on but I have always been one to trust my intuition (even before I really understood what intuition was). My feeling was that I needed to take a step back until things got a bit more settled.
I knew I was headed for overwhelm if I didn’t heed this gut feeling.
What has changed?
The answer is EVERYTHING!
Early next year I'll be going to go into more detail of how I manifested this new beginning. I believe there are valuable lessons that we can all learn. I’ll give you a brief overview now.
Visualising the dream
I’ve been planning to relocate from Sydney to the Gold Coast of Australia for some time. I even bought a house a couple of years back. The move has been difficult as I have been tied to my corporate job.
I never lost sight of making this move and spent a lot of time visualising and manifesting this change.
Pretty much out of nowhere my company announced that they were making structural changes which could lead to redundancies.
Long story short, I managed to get myself a redundancy which has freed me from the corporate job.
The power of manifestation
I’ll go into this in a lot more detail in my next post but I truly believe that I manifested this change. It didn’t necessarily happen the way that I thought it would but the result is the same (another important lesson).
I really do need to learn to trust that these things will happen at the right time and you will achieve the result.
I will also share the tarot reading that I did for myself, which was off the charts accurate. I’m not usually very good at reading for myself but the tarot was definitely there for me in my hour of need! (Yet another very important lesson!)
What’s next?
I’m moving to the Gold Coast just before Christmas.
My goal is to amp up Tarot Avenue and run a few other small businesses at the same time. I’m not interested in climbing the corporate ladder but I’m very excited about working on a business that I am passionate about.
As far as Tarot Avenue is concerned I want the focus to be on teaching. There will still be lots of free material and tutorials but I will probably release a few more courses (in-person and online). I will still be available for readings as well.
I am also very passionate about helping others to set up their own tarot business. My podcast is dedicated to this but you can expect more resources and courses heading your way.
What would I have done differently?
Hindsight is 20:20 but I’m not one to really dwell on regrets. I should have communicated that I was taking a break but the difficulty was I just didn’t know how long I would need.
If I had kept going I really do think that I would have ended up resenting my tarot work so I am very happy to have had this time.
I’m energised and very excited about the future.
Here’s to a bigger and better 2020! I’m looking forward to serving you and helping you with your very own tarot journey.

Hi David,
Thank you for your candour – I can relate with what you have experienced over the past months. I think this has been a transformative year for me too. I had to walk away from a manipulative boss and difficult work environment but now feel as if a huge weight has lifted! I have been taking a break from studying and reading tarot for a short while to rest from all the stress but realize I need it in my life and it is calling me back.
I am doing your course as a brief refresher – it is funny that one of the examples is the Ace of Pentacles for you which seems to describe your new circumstances! You have definitely risen to the challenge!
Wishing you every happiness and success in your new home and surroundings. I feel sure that 2020 is going to be a year filled with opportunity and joy.
Merry Christmas!
Best wishes,
Lisa
P.S. Originally from Canterbury but now in Toronto
Thanks Lisa. Always nice to know that we are not alone! Best of luck with the tarot journey. Sounds like 2020 is going to be a great year all around!
I have thought of you often. Was wondering what was going on.. glad you have everything sorted now. All the best with your move, and all the best in this new journey you are on
Thanks Robyn. Appreciate that. x
Welcome back! So happy to hear from you again. I have similar story as you about manifestation! Yes we are doing what we love now.
Absolutely! I would love to hear your story. Thanks for the message.
Lovely story, positive outcome and well deserved, nicky xx
Hello David, I have missed you and I am glad to hear from you. You definitely have a special way of connecting with others. Your sincerity and authenticity make for connections that feel very personal and intimate. A very rare talent indeed! Your Tarot readings reflect this. I am so happy things have smoothed out for you and that there has been a “course correction”. Many blessings and I look forward to whatever juicy things you have in store. Hi David,
Did wonder what happened to you. Great to read your story and isn’t it wonderful how things always work out when we give ourselves the space to allow our paths to unfold? Looking forward to more from you in the new year. By the way, what is the deck you used in this blog post?
Have an amazing 2020!
Mark
Hi Mark. Yes, one of the biggest lessons in life is learning to trust and allow space for things to happen but it seems to be one of the hardest lessons to implement!
The deck is Llewellyn’s classic tarot. I really like it. Simple but effective.
Great to get an update that you are well. All the best in the newly focused endeavor. Looking forward to seeing what’s next. Cheers!
Thank you. Very kind. I’m also looking forward to it.
It is really lovely to have you back David, looking forward to the next year in your company. Isn’t it wonderful how life flows to places that inspire us. I have also had a year of wonderful vibrant change. I wish your next year to be filled with love laughter and happiness with a sprinkling os positive challenges.
Thanks Sallie. Life can be pretty amazing if we allow it to be!
So happy to hear that it’s been a positive year for you. Let’s channel The Fool and leap into these new adventures. x
