When You SHOULD Get a Tarot Reading
If you follow my blog you would have seen that I recently wrote a post ‘When NOT to Tet a Tarot Reading’.
My view is that tarot can be a fantastic support through all your major life events. However, you have to be careful to use tarot at the right times.
In this post we dive into the best times to have a tarot reading. Honestly, I am just scratching the surface here as there are almost endless possibilities when it comes to how tarot can help, support and guide you.
Feeling Stuck?
Let’s face it. We have all felt stuck at some point in our lives. Maybe you are in a relationship that is not serving you, perhaps you are in a dead end job or maybe you just feel like you are on a treadmill and not really getting anywhere.
Tarot can be an excellent tool for clearing that energy and giving you some clear ideas about where you need to go and how you can get there. The wonderful thing about tarot is that it can adapt to any situation and give you the advice that you need at the time.
In this situation, I would focus on spreads that are action-oriented. Sometimes you just need to take a small action to get the ball rolling again.
You might also want to work out what is blocking you so you can fully address the issue, which leads me on to my next point….
Releasing Blockages
This ties in with feeling stuck. Sometimes it can be difficult to fully understand why we are stuck and why we just can’t get the outcome we are hoping for.
The blockage could be blocked energy, trapped emotions or even echoes from a past life.
I have a number of really great spreads to help you identify and release these blockages. Once you master these you will be surprised at where life can take you.
Check out this post to see a range of spreads that you could use:
Struggling to Make a Decision
It’s such a horrible situation to be in. I’ve found that I used to be able to make decisions really easily. However, as I have got older I’ve found it a bit harder. I get into the headspace and overthink the consequences of either choice which can lead to you just getting stuck!
Tarot can be really excellent for helping you make a decision. I’m not a fan or the cards just telling me what to do but I like to look at what the different options could look like, why I am struggling to make a decision and how to avoid getting into this situation again.
I truly believe that there is no such thing as a bad decision. It’s all about how you deal with what is put before you. The most successful people in life make a choice, commit to it then make it work!
Seeking Fulfilment
I’m really enthused to see that the lights are going on all over the world. I feel that more people are spiritually aware than ever before. I’m not just talking about going to church every Sunday. I’m talking about being self-aware, mindful and really tapping into your higher purpose.
It can be a tough place to be when you know that you are not fulfilling your higher purpose but you don’t know what do to about it. It’s almost like the soul is calling out for something new but you are not quite there yet to understand what that is. Sound familiar? I guess you could call it a spiritual awakening.
I have a developed a really lovely spread to help you find your calling in life. Check it out here:
Looking for Love
Every tarot reader who has ever existed will be very familiar with this question. Finding true love is one of the biggest gifts that this life can offer us.
I totally understand why I get asked this question as it’s a very important part of the human experience.
This spread is developed specifically for those who are looking for love:
Goal Setting
It’s almost a bit of a buzz phrase to talk about goal setting but it is very important. My life has changed really quite dramatically since taking goal setting more seriously and by using tarot to help.
Tarot can be a great way to check in on your goals, find out what’s happening behind the scenes or help you understand what action you need to take to get to the finish line.
I’ve put together a nifty little goal setting guide which you can download here:
Developing your Intuition
The benefits of having a well-developed intuition are truly endless. You will feel that you are in your flow, understand more about other people around you and make better decisions.
I’m a big believer in reading tarot intuitively. The ancient wisdom that is passed down is wonderful but for your readings to sing you have to be in touch with your intuition.
Drawing one card a day and checking in on how that card makes you feel is a wonderful first step to a well-developed intuition.
I have a free course if you want to take things a bit further www.tarotavenue.com/intuition
Creativity
When I first started reading tarot I thought that the cards were like scenes in a movie. It was kind of like a storyboard and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.
This got me to thinking that tarot could be used as a great tool for creative writing. Actually developing your intuition is a great way to get in touch with your creative self but the cards are a huge help.
I’ve written a few basic fairytales by drawing one card at a time, which was great fun. I also have a really hand little guide on how you can use tarot to help you with creative writing.
Taking Stock
Tarot can be a really useful tool for life coaching exercises. There is a very popular exercise called the Wheel of Life. This is basically a chance for you to reflect on each area of your life such as family, career etc and rate how you are doing on a scale of 1 to 10.
Tarot can be used as the action point for what you need to do to improve your score in each area.
If you would like to try this exercise just follow the link here:
As you see there is a lot to get your teeth into. This is just the beginning and as I have said many times before ‘tarot has no end’.
