Hi my beautiful tarot tribe! Sorry for the radio silence over the last couple of weeks but I’ve just got back from a 3 week trip to Europe then developed a hideous cold on the flight home. The bug along with the jet lag made me literally sick and tried! The great news is that I am on the mend and I am busting with inspiration after my trip. I have so many exciting projects planned but you are just going to have to watch this space…..
This week I wanted to share some of my experiences of how tarot intertwined with my trip and some of the fabulous things that happened.
I didn’t get off to the best start as in Sydney Airport as my hand luggage was pulled aside to be inspected because they thought there were was something suspicious! Well it turned out to be my tarot deck, which I had to display to the whole crowd who were coming through customs. I’m an out and proud tarot reader so I didn’t mind at all and found it quite funny. I should have offered a reading to see if I could get an upgrade!
Since starting my tarot business I’ve become a huge fan of listening to podcasts. It’s just amazing how much rich information there is out there and how willing people are to share. I’m going to do another piece of my most influential tarot bloggers and resources so you can expect that in the next week or 2.
I’ve also really got into listening to entrepreneurial podcasts such as Smart Passive Income and The Merrymaker Sisters. These are so cool and I’m learning heaps about how to run an online business. I spent a lot of time on my flight listening, digesting and being inspired. I am working on a few new projects as a result of this, but again all will be revealed……I’m such a tease.
The first part of my trip in Scotland was a bit stressful as just prior to my visit my lovely mother was admitted to hospital. She wasn’t having the best time getting settled in and kept asking me to do a tarot reading for her. I was a bit reluctant as I felt that I was too close and I didn’t want her to worry about anything negative that came up.
Well eventually I succumbed but the news was really good and she was left with a message that she really had to trust the professionals as they had her best interests at heart (3 of Pentacles). The great news is that she was released before the end of my holiday and she is doing great!
I had a really interesting tarot session with my sister, her
husband and my 2 nieces (The P family). I did individual readings, which were all accurate and well received then I asked them to draw one card at random from the deck, which was just an energy that I wanted to leave with them. They had complete free will to choose any card. When they chose – 3 out of the 4 chose the Knight of Wands! The niece who drew a different card realised that she had Knight of Wands at the bottom of the deck. It was almost as if he wanted her to know that he was still there and she was part of the family but there was just a more important message that she needed to hear at that time.
I always see the Knight of Wands as being somebody who really needs to take action based on passion. My brother-in-law had been offered another job at the time
but it meant that he would have to be away from home during the week. He had been weighing up his options as it was more money and career progression but he interpreted this card that he really had to take action and follow his passion, which was being close to his family. He called the next day to turn the job down! Since then he has actually had another offer, which means that he can be home and still get the progression! This is what I love about tarot. He is definitely not somebody who would take tarot seriously and is not spiritual at all but there was something in that image that really made him reflect on what is important to him then take action. My ambition is to bring tarot to the mainstream and raise the level of consciousness in everybody, not just those who are spiritually inclined.
I shouldn’t be surprised but what could be seen as even more bizarre was that in my mother’s tarot spread (I did the horseshoe spread) the card that came up as other influences was…..wait for it…..have you guessed yet???? You got it – The Knight of Wands! This was very clear that the P family were to play a key part in her recovery, which they absolutely did.
Next I headed off to London to catch up with loads of old friends. Many of them didn’t know I was doing tarot do it was fun breaking the news. A few of them were sceptical, some scared but there are definitely light bulbs going on all over the planet and most were really open. When I can sense that people are scared I never push it and always let them come to me if they need me.
I was drawing a card each day and posting on my Facebook page and Instagram. This was a really fun exercise for me and I would encourage anybody with a tarot deck to do the same. It’s great to come back and the end of the day and really see how that card played out. Sometimes it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense but usually something will happen a few days later and it will all fall into place.
My partner and I then headed to Amsterdam for 4 days. All I can say is WOW! I loved it. I really picked up on the free and liberal vibe of the place and found the whole place extremely inspiring. I didn’t do a whole lot with tarot whilst I was there as I had so much to see but I did have a very revealing reading with my partner about his career direction, which was fun.
Overall the trip was amazing and what I loved was that I kept seeing signs about growth. I was constantly drawn to buds on trees about to burst open or all off the tulips in Amsterdam just on the verge of sharing their gorgeousness with the world. I found this very symbolic and metaphorical of my tarot journey. I definitely have a few seeds planted and can’t wait to share the results with you when they start to blossom and grow.
I hope you enjoyed this post. It’s a bit different to my usual but please feel free to comment below and let me know what you think.
