Are You an Intuitive or Psychic Tarot Reader
There is a great deal of confusion over intuition vs psychic abilities. I want to break it down in this post to help everybody understand my point of view.
Intuition
Let’s look at the definition of intuition….
Intuition is tapping into your own subconscious to dig up some knowledge that you already know. I’ve read that we are exposed to up to 10,000 advertisements a day! That’s just ads, on top of this we have conversations, faces, emails, music, sounds etc. There is simply no way our conscious mind can process everything that we see. However, everything gets processed and stored in a part of our brain or subconscious.
Does Everybody Have Intuition?
I firmly believe that we are all intuitive beings – this is science rather than woo-woo. Think about it. Have you ever been in a situation where something just doesn’t ‘feel right’? We often know that a fight is about to break out before it even starts or maybe you just know somewhere in your ‘gut’ that somebody is going to let you down.
What’s actually happening here is that your brain is processing your surroundings, taking in all the data and computing like crazy to give you an idea of what you should do.
Can We Improve Our Intuition?

In my day job I work as a recruitment consultant. I meet a number or job seekers every week and have to find a match for my clients. I have been doing this for a long time that my intuition will frequently tell me if a person is a good match for a particular client within less than 5 minutes of meeting them. Now, like anything, it’s still up to that person to go out there and do well in the interview but I know if that potential is there for them.
Psychic Ability
When somebody is psychic they are drawing from an external source. Everybody will have a different view of what source they are tapping into, but that’s a whole other can of worms.
When a psychic medium or psychic tarot reader is doing a reading they will be getting information that they deliver to the client. They get these messages in different forms often called the Cs.
Clairvoyance – The ability to see things beyond the physical plane
Clairaudience – The ability to hear messages and sounds from spirit
Clairsentience – The ability to feel or sense spirit beings or energy
I’ve met some readers who get given information in song. It’s quite amazing. When they do a reading they will hear a song in their head that has some relevance to the other person.
Psychic mediums have the ability to connect with the other side and deliver messages from those who have passed.
Muddy The Waters
If only life were simple. It’s not actually as clear cut as I have mentioned above.
I consider myself to be an intuitive tarot reader but I definitely get drawn to different symbols or elements of the card depending on who I am reading for. The magic really happens when I let go and just pass on whatever information is coming to me.
Some will say that even intuitive tarot readers could be tapping into experiences they have had in past lives.
Tapping Into Collective Energy
I also do regular readings for my newsletter subscribers and daily readings for ‘the collective’ on Facebook and Instagram. To do this I tap into a collective energy. It’s amazing how many people contact me to say how relevant the readings were for them at that particular time.
We are all connected by a universal energy and it’s kind of amazing to think that I can do a reading for somebody over email who is thousands of miles away and still get a clear and accurate result for them.
As you see it’s a tricky topic with a lot of layers. I believe that intuition can be classed as scientific but there is also a little bit of magic in there that is extremely powerful and helpful.

Hi David,
Always an interesting topic, that of intuition v psychic connection. As a matter of interest I believe there is another form of the Cs. This is known as Claircognizance and means “to know”. When I am reading or doing energy work with a client the information or messages come in as a combination of clairaudience and clairsentience, along with something else that is hard to define but is a definite knowing.

I believe we all tap into what I call Universal Consciousness or Universal Intelligence along with our subconscious programmings. Intuition is the door to that knowledge. The more intuitive we get, the easiest it is to get this information. I don’t think we would do a reading without the connection with these two channels.
