December 2017 Tarotscope – What’s In Store?
Here we are in the last month of the year! Where has the time gone?
December is always a great month to reflect but I’m all about moving forward and not getting stuck in the past. I think it’s good to reflect as long as you can take some learnings from what you have gone through. You also need to then start your planning and goal setting. More goal setting posts and spreads to come in the next week or 2.
When we look at numerology, the 12th month would be represented by The Hanged Man in the major arcana, as well as The Empress (since a 12 can reduce to a 3). This would tie in with taking time to reflect, learning from that time so you can live your life to its full potential.
We are heading into a Mercury retrograde on 3rd December. Just be careful about technology and communication during this time. Be sure to back up your computers, phone etc. The good news is that this will finish on 23rd December, so we can all have a very merry Christmas.

March 21 – April 19
King of Cups
This is a very good time for communication. I see the King of Cups as a great teacher or counselor. This could mean that you need to seek and listen to advice from a King of Cups type personality. Perhaps you are the one who needs to give advice. Be mindful of what’s happening around you and don’t be afraid to jump in if you have something to add to the conversation. This King represents water, which is very free flowing, intuitive and calming. You could have a calming effect on those around you or perhaps you have King of Cups in your life that will help you make the most of the month.
Taurus
April 20 – May 20
8 of Pentacles
This is a month where you are going to throw yourself into work. There is no Christmas slowdown for you, unfortunately. The good news is that your hard work will be rewarded. You are also enjoying what you are doing but you do have to be careful to lift your head every now and again to celebrate your success and understand how far you have come. Maybe this is when you are going to have a competitive advantage. All of your competition has been slacking off on the lead up to the holidays but if you continue to forge ahead you will win.

May 21 – June 20
The Hierophant
This is a good month to get some structure into your life. The Hierophant can represent institution such as church or government but it can also represent marriage. There is also a learning opportunity this month. If you are on a bit of a spiritual journey you could find that December is a great time go deeper. The pillars are saying that this is definitely a good time to put some solid plans into place and you need to bring balance to your life. The keys can represent some locked knowledge that will be available to you in time. You need to do the work and study and you will be given those keys further down the track.
Cancer
June 21 – July 22
Two of Swords (reversed)
You are at a bit of a crossroads. You have some decisions to make but there is a reluctance to choose which path you are going to take. Are you avoiding conflict? What is holding you back? It looks like the storm has passed but the experience has left you feeling afraid of moving on. The situation you are in is unsustainable and you will have to pick a road fairly quickly. There is a feeling that your spirit has been dulled as you are feeling stuck. That grey shroud needs to be removed so you can get back to your bright and sparkling self. Things will not be as bad as you think. Follow your intuition to help you make a decision about what steps you take to help you move forward.

July 23 – August 22
The Hanged Man (reversed)
This is a good month to reflect but as I was saying earlier, you need to be sure not to get stuck in the past. It can be very comfortable getting stuck looking back and wondering what you could have done differently. What’s important is that you take action. The time is over for reflection and it’s time for action. You will actually be a lot wiser from what you have learned. This is all part of life’s cycles. Sometimes when we see the Hanged Man we need to learn to sacrifice something in our lives and surrender. There is definitely a sense of hanging on this month. Yes, you need to take action but let the Universe guide you in the right direction.

August 23 – September 22
The King of Pentacles
It’s time to boss up! This is a month to get serious about your finances, career or anything material. Do you have loose ends that need tying up before the end of the year? Maybe you need to file your taxes, perhaps you need to start working on your budget for next year. This could be a good month for planning and setting goals for your business for the next year. Check out my business planning tarot spread here*******. There is also a warning when we see the King of Pentacles that we should be seeking advice from a professional. Be sure to find people who are experts in their field and do your due diligence before making any big commitments. It could be a really solid month for you so make the most of these opportunities.

September 23 – October 22
Two of Pentacles (reversed)
It’s time to get your affairs in order. You have been juggling and struggling for too long but this is going to be the month where you sort yourself out. The balance is off and this could mean that you have been playing catch up with finances. Maybe you are overworking and it has come to a head. It’s time to address whatever your issue is and find a solution. You need to get yourself back on solid ground but you are only going to do this by facing up to your situation. The lessons that you learn from this experience will be with you for life. Maybe it’s time to draw up budget, perhaps you need to be strict about your working hours, maybe you need to look at refinancing the home loan until you get back on your feet.

October 23 – November 21
Page of Cups (reversed)
Last month you set off on that long journey of The Moon. You are probably mid-way through a particular cycle of your life but you could find that you have been losing your way. There are 2 things that you need to focus on this month. First, you have to listen to your intuition. That little fish jumping out of the cup is a clear sign that your intuition/subconscious is trying to get in touch and guide you on your path. The second thing that you have to do is have fun! You have been taking yourself very seriously but this is a good time to let yourself go and just be silly for once. Do you feel that you have the weight of the world on your shoulders? Let it go and remember that the journey can be more fun than the destination if you get your mindset right.
Sagittarius
November 22 – December 21
The Star (reversed)
You had The Start upright last month. You are going through a healing process and to some extent will be experiencing a rejuvenation. However, you may have hit a bit of a stumbling block. Maybe you have lost faith in the process. So many of us throw ourselves into healing and self-development but can hit a bit of a roadblock when the work gets confronting or tricky or maybe even monotonous. Continue to work on you and don’t be afraid to treat yourself. You don’t have all the answers yet but have faith that if you do the work, you will see the results. An example of this could be starting a meditation practice. It’s so easy to fall off the wagon. Make a commitment to keep fighting on and you could have a wonderful month
Capricorn
December 22 – January 19
King of Swords (reversed)
You are all about the Kings at the moment. Just be careful with the King of Swords. He can be very cutting and cold. This king will definitely tell you how things are and won’t really care much about your feelings. It can be useful to have this type of person in our lives but a bit of balance can also be good. Maybe there are cold hard truths that you need to hear. I would suggest that you seek out your Queen of Cups to counter the energy of the reversed King of Swords. For me, he can also represent a medical professional. If you are having any little health niggles this could be a good month to get yourself to your doctor for a quick checkup.
Aquarius
January 20 – February 18
The Emperor (reversed)
You have decided that you are going to do things on your own terms. You have tried playing by the rules and conforming and it’s just not working for you. This is the month to let loose and try things your way. People will be trying to get you to ‘colour between the lines’ but why shouldn’t you draw your own picture on the page??? As with everything in life, balance is the key. It’s good to know what the rules are but you mustn’t be afraid to bend them. If your inner rebel is bursting out, this is a very good month to set him/her free.
Pisces
February 19 – March 20
9 of Pentacles (reversed)
You are on the brink of achieving something wonderful. The 9 of Pentacles shows an independent woman who is doing things on her own terms. She has abundance, wealth and joy. You really get the sense that she is living a very centered and full life and she has achieved great things in her life. The reversal shows that there are a couple of blocks. I’m wondering if you feel like you don’t deserve to have success. Is there a bit of fear holding you back? How is your relationship with abundance? So many of us dream of success and wealth but when it starts to come our way we back off as we haven’t quite got our relationship with success or money sorted. Just know that you are definitely worth it and any rewards that you are being given are a direct result of whatever you have put out in this world.
