August 2016 Tarotscope

It’s that time of the month again folks, tarotscope time, where we have a look and see what’s in store for the month ahead.  I like to draw one card for each star sign to get a flavour of what the next month will be like for you. You will see that this month has loads of swords.  This could mean that there is potential for conflict but we do have to remember that there is always a choice, and even by reading this you are raising your level of awareness which will leave you more empowered.

Aries

March 21 – April 19
2 of Swords (reversed)

Decisions, decisions, decisions…..actually in this case it’s more like avoiding decisions.  You are going to have some choices to make this month and it’s really important that you open your eyes and see the big picture before picking a path.  It looks like it is going to be a bit of a tough decision that could cause some conflict.  You are in danger of shutting yourself off and burying your head in the sand.  That’s not going to work as you really need to face up to this situation.  You will find that things become much clearer and settled once you know where you are headed.  Maybe you have a couple of job opportunities, perhaps you need to have a difficult conversation with a friend or colleague or maybe you are deciding whether to move house or not.  It looks like neither option is bad but be sure to get all the facts as the moon in the background tells me that all is not as it may seem.  You will feel a sense of lightness return once you have a clear direction.

Taurus

April 20 – May 20
3 of Swords (reversed)

It’s time to let go of the pain.  You have been through a bit of a tough time but you will definitely feel those dark clouds start to part this month.  You will notice that this card being reversed shows that the swords are falling out of the heart.  There may be a bit of pain as that happens and there will definitely be scars but the healing process has started which will allow you to bring joy and light back to your life.  There may be a tendency to hang on to the situation, but try your hardest to live in the moment so you can clear the way for the future.  Maybe you are getting over a redundancy or perhaps you have been having relationship problems.  You will grow stronger from this experience and this transformation period is an important time for you.  Stay positive and know that you are heading in the right direction.

Gemini

May 21 – June 20
Ace of Swords

You are back to the Ace of Swords (which you had 2 months ago).  It’s almost as if there was a blip last month where you got a bit stuck but you are feeling very motivated and back on track.  The Ace of Swords is all about new ideas and having a strong will.  Aces are very much the seeds so it’s up to you to plant them and nurture them.  In August you will be feeling very motivated and powerful.  It’s important to make way for these ideas and inspiration to come flooding in, so just be careful not to get hung up on detail that left you feeling stuck last month.  If you are a writer, the writer’s block has passed.  Another example could be if you are trying to start a new fitness regime – you will definitely have the motivation to succeed and you are on the right path.

Cancer

June 21 – July 22
King of Pentacles

You are the boss this month!  Last month you had The High Priestess, which was all about listening to your intuition.  It seems that she has led you on the right path as you are calm, in control and surrounded by abundance this month.  This could be a great month for career and people will be looking up to you for advice.  You do have to be careful not to come off too aloof, cold or stuck in your ways.  You definitely have potential this month to make good choices when it comes to career or finances.  If you are making big financial decisions be sure to seek out advice from a professional.  You will feel a power this month that you haven’t felt for a long time and it’s all coming from within.  You have always had the skills and talent but now you have the confidence to back it up.

Leo

July 23 – August 22
2 of Pentacles (reversed)

You have to be careful with balance this month.  I know, I know it’s your birthday month but that doesn’t mean that you should go wild and let everything else suffer.  There could be a few unexpected things heading your way this month that leave you trying to juggle what feels like a million things at once.  You could find yourself on shaky ground.  Maybe you enter a really busy spell at work or maybe you are not dedicating as much time to your partner as you should.  You definitely have the ability to keep things balanced but it’s going to take a certain level or awareness and effort.  If you want to avoid those choppy waters you have to ask yourself what you can do to regain balance in your life.

Virgo

August 23 – September 22
Page of Swords

Last month you had the Knight of Cups which was all about following your heart and going on a quest for fulfillment.  It seems that you have completed that journey and now you know that you need to make sweeping changes and let go of the past.  You feel very much in control and have decided to not let your past define who you are now.  Carefully figure out what or who you should let go of and with a sweeping action of your figurative sword, cut the ties.  You will feel an incredible sense of freedom and lightness.  It’s really important that you also learn your lessons from this.  Be careful not to make the same mistakes again and get ready for this new phase of your life.

Libra

September 23 – October 22
6 of Wands (reversed)

You had the 6 of Pentacles last month which is all about giving back. You have another 6 (6 of Wands)  this month but this is about you doubting yourself.  This is a time when you should be celebrating your successes and accepting the praise from those around you, but your lack of confidence means that you are not reaching your potential.  You may also feel that you have been working really hard and not getting the recognition that you deserve.  Stick with it as it will come in time.  Maybe you didn’t get the promotion you were hoping for or maybe the work you have been doing for others has not been appreciated.  Don’t always look outward for praise.  Start by recognising your own talents and believing in yourself then everybody else will follow.

Scorpio

October 23 – November 21
Queen of Swords

The student becomes the master.  You have had a couple of pages in the last 2 months but you have now upped your position to a queen. The Queen of Swords is very knowledgeable, smart and makes decisions based on intellect rather than heart.  This could represent you or it could be somebody that you come in contact with this month.  When the queen is reversed the worst sides of the personality are in danger of shining through.  When crossed the Queen of Swords can be cold hearted and bitter.  It’s absolutely fine to make decisions based on heart rather than head but you have to find that balance so you don’t alienate yourself from those around you.  Just be aware that you might have temptation to head down this path or be careful of those around you as they could turn on you very quickly.

Sagittarius

November 22 – December 21
The Devil (reversed)

It’s time to let go of your fears and free yourself from your chains.  Things have been tough for you but through the experience you have learned a lot about your fears.  You are starting to realise that they are not as powerful as you once thought and that you do have the ability to free yourself.  You are almost there but you just need one last burst of courage to lift of those chains and walk away.  Perhaps you have a phobia that you are going to face up to or it could even be as simple as having a difficult conversation that you have been putting off for a while.  When we see The Devil reversed he can also be a sign of over indulgence, gluttony and hedonism.  It does feel to me that you are coming out of this period though so things should be much lighter for you in the future.

Capricorn

December 22 – January 19
The World

The lovely World.  You had The Star last month which was all about going through a period of healing.  Whatever you did worked as you have now reached the end of the cycle and achieved what you set out to do.  The World represents completion, fulfillment and freedom.  This is going to be a great month for reaching your goals and potential.  There will probably be new chapters starting for you in the next month or 2 but just be sure to take time to enjoy the present.  This could signify that there is a new job opportunity for you or maybe you will pass those exams that you have been studying for.  It could even be about a friendship or relationship getting back on track.  It’s the final chapter of this book so be sure to relish the last few pages.

Aquarius

January 20 – February 18
King of Swords (reversed)

The King of Swords is incredibly gifted, intelligent and powerful.  When the card is reversed we can see the worst sides of the personality coming out and those gifts can be used to be manipulative and controlling.  Just be careful not to fall into the temptation of doing things purely for selfish reasons.  Keep an awareness of how your actions will impact others and be honest with yourself.  This card could represent you or it could be somebody that you are going to come into contact with.  In a work situation try to really stay as a team player and don’t use your gifts at the expense of others.  In a relationship or friendship just be careful how you interact and be kind.

Pisces

February 19 – March 20
6 of Swords

It’s time to move on.  The boat has left the harbour and you are setting off on your new adventure.  There is a real sense of protection around you and you are heading to smoother waters.  This is a transitional period but there is something very peaceful about the transition.  It’s almost as if the pain has passed and you have done your mourning, and you know that the right thing to do is move on. Maybe travel is on the horizon for you or maybe you are being guided to a better place by your higher self.  Perhaps you are finally getting over a relationship breakdown and you are ready to move on to a new chapter in your life.  Be sure to stay in that pace of moving forward and don’t let negative thoughts drag you toward the past.
