3 Card Tarot Spreads
I’m a huge fan of 3 card tarot spreads.
These spreads really help us get the root of the issue without over-complicating things. There is a danger when reading tarot, for ourselves or others, that we keep drawing cards and only focus on the cards that we really want to see.
When you have only 3 cards to work with the true meaning really has nowhere to hide!
Intuition Flow
I find when I am working with 3 card tarot spreads that my intuition really starts to flow. I think it’s because you don’t get caught up in trying to talk about all the cards to the client.
Going deep in a reading is something that I really love. When reading a 3 card tarot spread you get a lot of depth. You can the opportunity to really dig into each card and see how they are interacting with the others around them.
Which 3 Card Spread Should I Use?
Use your imagination. Let it go and have fun with it. There is no right or wrong when designing spreads and you truly can use any combination of meanings.
Here are a few that you could try:
Past | Present | Future
Situation | Action | Result
Obstacles | How to Overcome | Result
Mind | Body | Soul
What to do now | What to do next | What to do next
Goals | Starting Point | Action
Who Can Help | How Can They Help | What Should I Do
Option A | Option B | Clarifying Card
Need to Know | Need to Do | Need to Say
I could go on and on. If you want to download my free Ebook, full of tarot spreads, just click on the button below.
Keep it Simple
The less complicated the spread the more information you will get. Don’t get me wrong, there is definitely a place for the longer meaty spreads such as the Celtic Cross.
3 card tarot spreads are really good for the beginner right through to the experienced tarot reader.
I often draw a 3 card spread at the end of a reading if I want to get clarification. Perhaps something has come up in the reading which shows an obstacle. I could draw 3 cards to find out how to deal with that obstacle and where it can lead.
Demonstration
I’ve put together a video demonstrating how you can read 3 different tarot spreads.
Hopefully this will inspire you to go out there and create your own wonderful and useful spreads.
